As the tour guides were providing narratives, I allowed myself to be transported back in time to Rome's early days of birth, triumph, defeat and rebirth. I traveled back in time seeing the Sistine Chapel half-way painted as Signor Michelangelo seemed to look down and smile at me as if to greet me, but definitely acknowledge my presence. I "saw" all of the Popes of Rome surround me in St. Peter's Square. I got to witness a chance of a lifetime mass and blessings of my souvenirs by the current Pope Francis. I walked side by side with Rome's very own ancestors as they smiled on - knowing that all of their struggles were not in vain. My faith in God, in humanity was renewed.
I loved the confidence of the Roman women who, it seemed, only knew sexiness came from within. They exuded this confidence that I feel lacks here in the United States because we Americans have allowed our media to be our societal norm. Depicting that women are only sexy if they are skinny and of a certain standard set by Hollywood - which to me is utter bullshit, but that's another day, another topic and another blog. Today, I celebrate and pay homage to Rome - the sexiest and dirtiest (in every sense of the word) yet, Spiritual city; if all of these traits exist in this city then it can also exist in a person.
I hope you enjoy my amateur videos and feel what I've tried to capture on film. Bear with me - I will master the art of videography...sooner than later!
Till next time, I bid you all love, light and compassion!
