Friday: I met with a new client for a reading and healing session--I love these modalities because I love walking away knowing I made that person feel better and confirm what they already know in their heart. Lesson: It's always good to have a 3rd pair of eyes "looking in" to see if you've missed something and what else there is you can learn about yourself and the world around you.
Saturday: Woke up to take care of personal business (paid rent); then headed to Sacramento, specifically, UC Davis Medical Center/Hospital. I met up with the Machado-Miranda Family to visit my 2nd mom, Maria (yes that's her name too). Without getting into specifics out of respect for my 2nd family's privacy, I had to prepare myself for what was behind that hospital door. All that mattered was that Maria was alive and most of all stable (and somewhat conscious). However, she must have read my face as I was holding back tears, when I looked into her eyes to tell her "I'm here, please don't talk and take it easy" (in a hospital of all places). Lesson: No matter how much you've prayed/meditated to prepare yourself--You will never be prepared to see your loved one in pain and suffering.
Sunday: FUN DAY! I helped out a friend's daughter with her film project and I had a blast with the rest of the young people on the film set. I had a small part(non-speaking role, thank God!) Long story short, I worked with professionals who had an awesome sense of humor. Lesson: People, just like things, aren't always what they seem; make the most of life and live it up.
What do all of these events have in common--it felt good to be needed and to lend a helping "hand"--I appreciated and loved life even more. Bring it on, God--Bring it on!!!!
Till next week, I bid you all love, light and compassion.
~Maria
