Are You There, Mama Mary?  It's Me Maria

A couple of weeks ago, I've noticed that my spirit had been drained and I couldn't figure out why. Well, I checked with my daily ritual and there was one major item missing from it. The Rosary. I COULDN'T REMEMBER THE LAST TIME I RECITED THE ROSARY!  I made changes to my daily ritual because I wanted to fit in certain activities involving my well-being (the gym). After all, I was determined to match my outside with my inside. Well, in the process of doing so, I cut my ritual down to grounding with (inconsistent) meditation and prayer.  I had cut down my meditation session from 45 minutes to 10 minutes, while placing emphasis on my physical body with a 2 hour gym session. As previously mentioned, my spirit had been drained and I was imbalanced, so I needed a solution and FAST! Then, 2 weeks ago--towards the weekend, I kept receiving the message “rosary”. AHA, THAT WAS MY SOLUTION! At any rate, I still hadn't heeded the message (I can be hard-headed sometimes) and I waited till Saturday, May 10th to take action.

I knew I was meeting my writers group and a friend afterwards on that Saturday. I even came close to canceling with them. I finally caved in and made time to pray the rosary. Immediately, I got results. I felt the difference; there was a lightness and brightness to my spirit. I felt renewed and ready to conquer the world! So, I went forth and attended both meetings that day and boy was I glad I “welcomed” back my rosary session. At that point, I knew what I had taken for granted, what was missing in my life up to that point and what I needed to restore and maintain my inner peace and balance.

I guess what I’m trying to say is regaining that BALANCE was the key ingredient in my life’s lesson – retaining and maintaining it. I’ve also learned that there are no short cuts when it comes to my Spiritual journey or any journey for that matter. Personally, cutting out the rosary was like being dehydrated – I was thirsty for it. Hope that makes sense.  Till next time, I bid you all love, light and compassion.
