Grateful

I took a blog-break last week.  Since it is Thanksgiving, I decided what the heck?!  Why not write all of the things I’m grateful for in order to stay in a positive frame of mind?!  Hence, this is the result.

I’m grateful for everyone who have come and gone from my life and I’m especially thankful for the ones who choose to stay in it.  I honor you all for surrounding me with your love and support.  I’m grateful for each day God has made and thankful that I’m alive to experience life and live NOW.  I chose to stop worrying about the future and take care of the present and just revel in it.  I thank God that I’m able to get to/from the Philippines safely to spend time with my wonderful parents and relatives.   I’m thankful for having a home, job, food and clothing; that I have a blessed son who makes me laugh and realize how great of a parent I am.  Special thanks to God, Goddess & all of the Angels who heed my call when I ask for it.

Also, I’ve decided to change my way of thinking from “why is this happening to me?” to “what do I need to learn from this experience?”  Each time I catch myself in a predicament where I used to ask myself “why is this happening to me?” I’ve now made it a habit to ask myself “Hmmm, what do I need to learn from this?”  I feel a calmness and peace.

So my challenge for you this week is to make one change in your life and be open to change.  Be grateful for what you have and the blessings will continue to flow.  Until next week, I bid you all love, light and compassion.

Happy Thanksgiving!  God(dess) Bless You.

Maria

Family

They are my source of inspiration for this week and it’s only fitting since the holidays are here.  Each individual is shaped by their family.  To know my family is to know me and vice versa.  Amidst the craziness of everyday life, my solace is my family.  My dad is a San Juan and my mom is an Aguila, so that would make me half San Juan and half Aguila; or half saint and half eagle.  LOL!  I attribute my intuitiveness, wit, and courage to the Aguilas.  On the other hand, the San Juans get kudos for my fun-loving and compassionate nature.  Both sides bring a great balance in me.

Just as any normal family, we have had our fair share of ups and downs and we got past them.  In time, we grew to understand and comprehend what life is about and how short it is to hold on to grudges.  Grudges are not the business—it isn’t worth the trouble and heartache; besides, along with it comes guilt.  Guilt is a heavy burden no one should carry.  By the way, everyone hates their family one time or another and there’s nothing wrong with it, it is normal.  Since our family is a reflection of us, and they have this profound affect on us, stop and think--perhaps there are traits inside of us we wish to change.   Make sense?!

So my challenge for all of you this week is to re-connect with your family.  Remember life is too short, reach out to your family today, for there might not be tomorrow.  Until next week, I bid you all love, light & blessings.

Maria
