Resilience

This week's theme is Resilience.  Merriam-Webster defines "resilience" as:  1: the capability of a strained body to recover its size and shape after deformation caused especially by compressive stress; and 2:  an ability to recover from or adjust easily to misfortune or change.

Also, it's often been used to describe the strength of children and how "resilient" they are to almost anything.  But how about adults?!  Yes, it definitely applies to adults as well--WE ARE ABLE TO BOUNCE BACK to whatever shape or form because that's how the human race/spirit is.  I've been to certain places in my life where I thought & felt that "it was the end of the world," especially after a job loss, financial woes, etc.  Then, when I finally thought about it--I'm like, am I stuck on stupid?!  What am I thinking?!  Material things can always be replaced, but you can never replace lives.  Then, after a day of wallowing in self-pity, what do I do?!  I do whatever it takes to get back on my feet and on solid ground.  Instead of blaming the economy and/or the world for what's happened to me, I take that energy to constructively find a solution for myself.  I've asked myself:  what can I do to re-invent myself?!  What other ways are there to creatively market myself?  Better yet, what kind of classes can I take to add to my skillset?  Staying positive is also key.  Nothing is ever that bad; God will always place you where you need to be instead of where you want to be.  Accept the fact that perhaps something's aren't meant to be and move on.

We are all meant for great things; and the only thing we need to keep in mind is we must be fluid to change.  Once we recognize this, then we can't go wrong.  Bear in mind, it'll probably feel like it's taking forever to get where you want to go (especially if you're just as impatient as I am...LOL), but it is definitely worth the journey of finally arriving there...to your rightful place, your calling.

Remember, YOU ARE RESILIENT.  I bid you love, light & blessings.

Miracles

You want/need a miracle, or rather miracles, yet you don't take the time to indulge yourself in the miracles surrounding you already.  That's the message I received a few minutes ago.  It made me think how perception is EVERYTHING.  Just as the saying goes "little things add up"--they sure do, especially, if you count all of the great things that have happened to you in your lifetime.  You know exactly what I'm talkin' about.

A miracle can be anything from a stranger saying "excuse me" instead of of shoving us aside as he/she boards the train to landing the job of your dreams or the woman who thought she could never have children, learning she's pregnant.  Look around you, stop expecting!  See the messages/gifts the universe is giving you, don't disregard them as coincidences--because trust me, sistas & brothas, they're not!  YOU manifest EVERYTHING in your life--it's all about how you CHOOSE to look at life & how YOU CHOOSE HOW TO LIVE IT.  If you continue to look at life as misery, like everyone & everything on Earth owes you something...then you will attract nothing but negativity (energy, people, situations, etc.).  But if you look at things and I mean EVERYTHING as a gift or a lesson learned, then you're on your way to greatness.  For example, DON'T LOOK AT A FLAT TIRE AS PUNISHMENT, look at this way, possibly God needed you to slow down so you won't get into that accident (yup that major one that you just heard on the radio) or perhaps it was another sign for you to meet someone to connect with OR maybe it was the Universe's way of saying "SLOW DOWN, TAKE THE TIME TO SEE THE MIRACLES AROUND YOU ALREADY!"

We don't realize it but, I'll be the first to say I've witnessed many miracles...to date, here are my favorite miracles:  mom & dad are alive and healthy AND my son who continues to serve this country (via US NAVY :o)) is still here to say "I did it, mom!"  Although, I've lost many loved ones along the way, I feel it is a miracle to be surrounded by my "LIVE" loved ones, so I know that WHATEVER journey I'm going through--I'M NOT ALONE.  So think about it and change your perception.  Till next week.  I bid you all LOVE, LIGHT & BLESSINGS.

Weekly Themes

Each week (starting with this week) I'll be featuring a word for the weekly theme.  This week's theme is "patience."  I've read and heard many times that "patience is a virtue."  It truly is if we all want to grow and flourish.  My patience has been tested a few times this week (and it's only Tuesday!), and instead of getting angry--I asked God and his band of Archangels for help.  I asked them to show me how to help myself from growing in anger, and in turn, attracting unwanted, negative energy.  It helped!  I felt a calmness wash over me.

Remember this always, help is there when we ask.  Till next week, I bid you all love, light and blessings.

Laboring on Labor Day--BUT, I didn't slave away...

Happy Labor Day, Everyone!  I've been up since 5 am today.  I started my daily routine of clearing my chakras, saying my affirmations and watching "Charmed" -- a show I CAN DEFINITELY relate to.  Then, I had breakfast with one of my BFFs, Deborah.  I got home around 10 am, replied to emails and cleaned the balcony--readying it for tomorrow's paint-prep power wash (try saying the latter 5x fast...LOL!)

Then after a 1-hour break (lollygagging), I finally grew the balls to research literary agents, got their addresses and sent my query letter for my memoir to a couple of them (wish me luck).  I prayed for 1/2 an hour.  Now, I'm sitting back typing this short & sweet blog, watching my Harry Potter DVDs--can life get any sweeter than this?!  Of course, but I'm living for today and loving it.  Until next week Beauties!

Love, light & blessings,
Maria
